We proudly congratulate our typhoon relief operations volunteers—fourth-year BS Health Sciences students Beatrice Nicole Almazan, Myka Angela Candelaria, Louise Martina Estevez, Trisha Gabriel Lemoncito, Don Ferdinand Santiago, Caitin Beatriz Tan, and Mariel Aurea Villafranca—for winning the 2025 ASCEND Excellence Award for their senior project, “StaROps: A Standardized Relief Operations Database for the Tanging Yaman Foundation.”
Their project was recognized for its outstanding use of technology and teamwork to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of disaster relief operations. The award was presented during the Ateneo Service Learning Conference (ASLC) and the Ateneo Socio-Civic Engagement for National Development (ASCEND) event, themed “Beyond the Common Good, Strive for the Common Good,” held on 13 June 2025 at Escaler Hall.
This upgraded Relief Operations database will undoubtedly strengthen the Tanging Yaman Foundation’s mission of bringing timely aid and renewed hope to disaster-affected communities.
Congratulations once again to Akym, Anina, Bea, Cait, Don, Maye, and Trish—and to Dr. Norman Dennis E. Marquez and Ms. Vanessa T. Siy Van for their invaluable mentorship and support.
