This Lenten season, the “Gulay para sa Parokya” Lenten Almsgiving initiative became a meaningful expression of solidarity and care for both farmers and communities in need.
Through this effort, a total of ₱224,449.00 was mobilized to support local farmers, enabling the rescue and distribution of 3 tons of onions and 3.3 tons of tomatoes. These were shared across 32 parishes, feeding centers, and religious communities, reaching 3,231 families.
Since the pandemic, we have been working closely with San Vicente de Paul Parish – Archdiocesan Shrine of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal in serving street dwellers in Manila through regular feeding programs and the distribution of vegetables and other essential food items via their community pantry.
Fr. Joel Rescober shares his gratitude: “Nagpapasalamat po kami sa Tanging Yaman Foundation sa patuloy na suporta na ipinapaabot sa aming feeding program at community pantry. Mabuhay po kayo!”
