The partnership of Tanging Yaman Foundation and the Manila Cathedral began last April 2021 in response to an appeal by Fr Regie Malicdem, rector of the Manila Cathedral, to support the community pantry of Intramuros.
Some donors asked the Tanging Yaman Foundation to send rice, dried fish, and assorted vegetables to the Manila Cathedral Community Pantry which later became a hub where rice and vegetable donations were in turn shared with other parishes in the vicinity to assist those affected by the lockdowns and the pandemic.
Total donations received were P1.15M which provided a weekly donation of rice and vegetables for about seven months.
Maraming maraming salamat to the generous donors for responding to the call to feed the hungry and disadvantaged.
