On June 25, 2017, Fr. Manoling V. Francisco, SJ together with St. John Vianney Theological Seminary (SJVTS) Formators, Fr. Raul Dael and Ms. Venus Guibone, MAPM, SJVTS Seminarians and the Social Action Center Team of the Archdiocese of Cagayan de Oro visited evacuation centers and Bishop dela Peña of the Diocese of Marawi in his temporary shelter in Iligan City. They visited the Diocesan Pastoral Center in Iligan City were they met Sr. Emma Uy and dropped off 15 sacks of rice and boxes of relief good for one evacuation center.
They also visited Bishop Edwin dela Peña of the Diocese of Marawi in his temporary residence and Cathedral, which is as big as a barrio Chapel, in Maria Christina, Iligan at the border of Iligan and Marawi.
Bishop dela Peña hosted a simple lunch and shared many stories and experiences. The group unloaded 35 sacks of Rice for four (4) evacuation centers under Bishop's jurisdiction.
